Mr. Jeff Rose is the Program Coordinator for Materials Innovation Service (MIS) at the University of Northern Iowa. The MIS is an outreach program that assists Iowa businesses and industries in developing products that use recycled materials and help them refine their manufacturing processes to reduce wastes going to the landfill. In addition to this MIS also designs and develops innovative testing methods specific to customer's products.
''MIS benefits greatly from student involvement in our day to day activities,'' says Jeff Rose, ''They provide invaluable knowledge and skills as well as the energy and enthusiasm to further their knowledge.'' Mr. Rose feels that students are the basis of university life here at UNI. Students involved in research provide needed services that would be expensive or not performed at all. Receiving his B.S. in Technology, Automation, and Production and then going on to receive his M.A. in Technology, Training, and Development from the University of Northern Iowa Jeff Rose knows first hand the value of student research at UNI.
