RRTTC serves as a research, education and outreach center for the development of economical approaches to solving intractable solid waste problems, providing research and technical assistance on public health concerns as they relate to solid waste concerns.

RRTTC Outreach Activities

The RRTTC is involved in many community outreach activities and programs, including:

-Iowa Children's Water Festival, with over 2,000 fifth grade students in attendance each year

-UNI Earth Day Celebration, with over 500 UNI students, faculty, and staff in attendance

-"Get Your Green On" Environmental Education program at six Cedar Falls elementary schools, reaching over 2,500 students, 300 teachers & staff, and 5,000 parents this year

-West High & East High Health Fairs, with over 1,500 students in attendance

 

Featured below is the annual UNI Earth Day Celebration.  The RRTTC teams up with The Center for Energy and Environmental Education, WRS Sole Power, and many other university and community organizations to bring UNI Earth Day to the community.
