| | Recycling Activism: What Can I DO? | | Did you know that the average college student produces 640 pounds of garbage a year? Providing recycling activities on campus is a good thing for you, UNI, and the environment. However, the RRTTC cannot do it without the support of students. Below you will find links that will provide assistance on various recycling programs that can be started on campus. Just clink on the links to see how you can help make a difference for your world! | | Dump and Run Dump and Run is dedicated to reducing the amount of waste generated by college campuses and does this by extending the life of useful objects. The idea behind the program is to collect items that students may throw away such as couches, lamps, and other items that are still usable. From here a sale is organized on campus and students have an opportunity to purchase items. The money is then donated to a worthy cause on campus or in the community. -We at the RRTTC think this program would be extremely beneficial for UNI and the students. If you have a passion to make a difference in your world, this is one way you can serve. | | Campus Ecology A website that helps colleges and universities confront global warming by supporting and recognizing climate and wildlife-friendly practices and cultivating long-term leaders on campus and in the community. | | Campus Zero Waste The goal of this website is to help students and other campus community members tap into the wealth of web-accessible information that is available on waste reduction and recycling. | | Links for Students: | | * UNI Environmental Programs * UNI Environmental Health Certificate Program * Recycling at UNI * Local Recycling Drop-Off Locations * Recycling Links * Internships * Student Profiles * Recycling Education Links * Sustainable Building | | | "My job experience with the RRTTC has offered me the foundation of practical work environment necessary for any work place.
